Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using BxLight. By downloading, accessing, or using BxLight, you agree to be bound by these terms.
BxLight is a mobile application developed and operated by The Behavior Lighthouse LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). BxLight is designed as an educational tool to help parents and caregivers observe, understand, and respond to their child's behavioral challenges. BxLight was developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and is grounded in evidence-based behavioral science principles. However, BxLight is expressly NOT a clinical service, therapy service, medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional behavioral assessment or treatment.
By creating an account, downloading, or using BxLight, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, you are the parent or legal guardian of the child whose information you enter, you have read and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, and you acknowledge that BxLight is an educational tool and not a clinical or therapeutic service.
BxLight is an educational tool. It is NOT a therapy service, medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional clinical care. For behaviors that pose immediate safety risks, including eloping, self-injury, head banging, or aggression, always seek guidance from a licensed BCBA, therapist, or medical professional before implementing any strategy. IN ANY EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY. AI-generated content is based solely on the information you enter and is not reviewed by a licensed professional before delivery. All insights should be discussed with your child's therapist before implementation. Use of BxLight does not create a BCBA-client relationship or any professional-client relationship.
To use BxLight you must create an account using a valid email address. You may create profiles for children in your care. By entering child information you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian, you have legal authority to enter the child's information into a third-party application, and the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not enter information about children for whom you do not have parental or legal guardian status. Premium subscribers may invite therapists or caregivers to access child profiles in read-only capacity.
BxLight offers Free ($0), Premium Single ($24.99/month or $249.99/year), and Premium Multiple ($35.99/month or $349.99/year) plans. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The Company does not directly process or store your payment information. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds are governed by the refund policies of the applicable app store.
You agree not to use BxLight for any unlawful purpose, attempt to reverse engineer the application, misrepresent your identity or relationship to any child whose profile you create, attempt to circumvent security features or subscription limitations, or use BxLight in any manner that could damage or impair the application.
BxLight, including its design, features, ABA clinical framework, AI prompting system, and skill repertoire, is owned exclusively by The Behavior Lighthouse LLC. You retain ownership of the information you enter into BxLight. By entering information you grant The Behavior Lighthouse LLC a limited license to use that information solely for operating and improving BxLight.
Your use of BxLight is governed by our Privacy Policy available at behaviorlight.com/privacy.html. BxLight uses the Claude API by Anthropic to generate AI responses. Information you enter into Help Now sessions is transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing.
BxLight is designed for use by parents and caregivers, not by children. BxLight is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account without parental consent, please contact us immediately at contact@behaviorlight.com.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE BEHAVIOR LIGHTHOUSE LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF BXLIGHT, INCLUDING PHYSICAL INJURY RESULTING FROM IMPLEMENTATION OF ANY STRATEGY SUGGESTION, ANY OUTCOME RESULTING FROM RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CONTENT, OR ANY DECISION MADE BASED ON PATTERN DETECTION OR BEHAVIORAL INSIGHTS. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY'S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR BXLIGHT IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
BXLIGHT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. THE BEHAVIOR LIGHTHOUSE LLC EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. The Company does not warrant that BxLight will be error-free or that any strategy suggestions will produce specific behavioral outcomes.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Behavior Lighthouse LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of BxLight, your violation of these Terms, or your implementation of any strategy suggestion generated by BxLight.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Harris County, Texas, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit against The Behavior Lighthouse LLC.
The Behavior Lighthouse LLC reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of BxLight after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
The Behavior Lighthouse LLC reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use BxLight ceases immediately.
